springish...

March is this weird sort of a in-between-month.
Not really winter, not really spring.

The skies are a glorious blue.
But you can wake up to fresh snow.

Which starts melting within minutes.
There's a saying we have: New snow is the death of the old (snow).

It'll be April this week...
And my first flowers are blooming :)

Saara's room is freshened up. It is pink no longer, but a pretty bright green!

She is s-l-o-w-l-y moving back in. We've moved in her bed, rug, desk and chairs. All the other stuff waits for her test week to be over and for her to go through all of her stuff before it goes back in. All of it.

Christening

Meet Lukas Oskar.

Those cheeks..right?
Yes, I made silly fish faces with the help of those cheeks.. :D
I love how it was totally impossible to button up the shirt.

Big sister was having a laugh with the christening gown.
And yes,by this time baby brother was wearing it.

One of my dad's old business tie clips.
"You can't do business when your computer is down"
There's also a not so politically correct version.. use your imagination, please :)
Think male body parts...

Dude.. I'm in ruffles..!

Saara is his god mother. We left the portraits of the two for a time her scars from falling down will be gone.

Happy girl

And two happy dogs getting loads of love.

We visited my dad's cousin a couple weeks back for a very nice Sunday lunch.
The beef burgundy was divine..
I came home with my great-aunt's bread recipes to boot :D

Lucky like a four leaf clover...

So what do you do, when you get a persistant stain on your kid's white t-shirt?
Grab some pretty green fabric scraps and make the shirt into a new fave :)

Yes, I hand sewed them on. I love the way the edges frayed in the wash.
One of those, quick projects you can finish while watching a film on tv.
Gotta love those!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

One planet, two planets, three...

We've been creating our own solar system in the afternoon club in the past two weeks.
This one has at least three suns.
I love how the planets look hanging by our windows :)

These are fairly straight forward to make.
Grab two paper plates (we had two sizes), add some creative kids with paints and glitter glue.
I taped a yarn inside one plate and attached the two sides together with super strong two-sided tape.

I couldn't resist making a planet of my own.
*grin*

well..hello there...

Yes, I know it's already March 11th.
Been a busy start of the month...

It's starting to feel like spring :)
The birds are singing happily when I wait for my bus in the morning.
The sun feels lovely and warm.
A sure sign of spring is that my sunglasses are with me in my purse.
Also the bangles come out.

I don't wear necklaces (much), so I tend to adorn my ears, fingers and wrists.

Another sure sign of spring is ice everywhere.
It is slippery, veeery slippery out there.
Alas, Saara found that out the hard way.
She slipped a few steps from our front door and landed jaw first.
(her story is, that she had just been to see Mission Impossible 4, and was inspired by the stunts. She has since decided against that career path) :P

This is her at the ER.
It doesn't look as painful as it was.
Her nose was swollen and she said that there must be an easier way to get those Jolie lips...

She got four stitches on her chin, and the next day we had the dentist do an x-ray to check her jaw as it was so sore. She might have a hairline fracture near the joint, but it'll heal by itself.

It could have been so much worse...
So be careful out there!

In good news, the two of us (as well as Saara's BFF and funnily enough my bro) are heading to London for a long weekend in May.

Kensington Dolls House festival, shopping, photography and a seeing a couple friends (hopefully!) for me.
Spurs game and shopping for my bro.
And shopping, shopping, shopping, shopping and shopping for the teens :D
