Oh my goodness!

Sometimes browsing online is so worth the time.

I just found a miniature store in downtown Helsinki that sells the stuff I listed in yesterday's post! (which I was amazed to see was up this morning! I couldn't get it to post and thought I had lost the revisions I made to the draft..)

I'll be doing my cleaning super fast, calling DH to talk him into dinner downtown (wink) and heading over to Uudenmaankatu 27 with a smile on my face.
No, make that a BIG GRIN.

I'm almost dancing here...

The Glencroft

I can't tell you how happy I am to have this done.

Or almost done.
I have to confess I haven't sized the inside doors yet, I simply ran out of steam.
But I will be doing that within a month.
Today I fought the real hinges I had planned on hooking the front door up with. After some, ok... much bad language, I went out and cut hinges from leather. They work.

I will also be ordering livingroom furniture...
It looks a bit empty.
A lot empty in fact.
Poor Mary doesn't even have a sofa.
I'm thinking of ordering these and then re-upholstering them myself.

And some tables:

Lets see the rooms then.
Bathroom:

It still needs a small shelf and a mirror and these:

Bedroom:

I'm thinking she needs a nightstand or maybe a chest like this at the end of the bed.

Meet Molly the cat.

Onto the sadly empty livingroom.

That worn chair belonged to her late husband George and Mary just doesn't have the heart to let go of it.
Notice her stash of english licorice and chocolates... a woman after my own heart..heheheee.

She badly needs a chair so she can listen to her wireless :o)

Finally the kitchen where Mary is boiling tea water for us.

Only the best cheddar for the mouse.

And Mary does enjoy the occasional bottle of Guinness.

I know the kitchen is a bit crowded but I want to fit in this table and chair.

And some sort of a shelf for the dishes.
Maybe a wall unit like this:

One day I might get it all done.
Then what?

Who? What? Where?

I can't see you...
The city is fogged in.

It's supposed to be sunny this afternoon, but I'm not holding my hopes up.
It should be the last warm day before a cold front reaches us.
And then fall will be here for real.

I'm prepared.
We bought a pumpkin yesterday.
*grin*

It works!

Blogger that is. It was giving all sorts of trouble yesterday...

I've been thinking small all weekend. On saturday I finished a lot of work on the dollhouse. As soon as I get the three doors fitted and hinged, I'll show it to you in all it's beauty.
This week.

Stay tuned.

I've also been baking.
Pies.

Want a closer look?
Here you go, click on the pics to make them bigger.

Aren't they fun?
The berries are beads and the apple slices are wooden beads cut into pieces.
You can find instructions for these
here.

I also bought some of that oven-bake modeling clay.
Why?
Because I found
these amazing miniature foods made by Angie Scarr.
One link lead to another and I found
a book of hers that I just plain want. SO I added it on my Amazon wish list...heheheee...
The girls and I had a blast yesterday.
As you can see.

Small. Tiny. Super fun.

Saara made cheese and all those carrots. And yes, those are teeny tiny donuts...

Also on the menu some more cheese, sandwiches with either salami, eggs or peppers, karelian pies and eggs & bacon for breakfast.

Not to forget the bread or the "berliners", the jelly donuts with pink frosting.

Niina cooked up a feast for her barbie dolls. Including the cuter than cute duck cake. And can you see the snowman? Just darling...

Me, I followed this tutorial and learned to make orange slices!

I then went on to bake two cakes. Wish I could taste them.

***some of these will be heading up to Tornio. Thanks for your patience Heli, finally getting your 10 000 celebratory prize mailed this week***

What else went on...
I got to see a possible wedding gown with my soon to be (April 21st is the date) sister-in-law. Wow is all I can say. Tomorrow we're off to see the other candidate. She won't be wearing white. Not her style. I can't give you details in case my bro reads this... but trust me...wow.

Today we're having friends over.
Yummy food.
Chicken parmegiana and a apple crisp for dessert.
Can't wait. I'm hungry already.

Oh and if you haven't noticed, it's been unusually warm here. That ticker hit 70 on friday!
We're being spoiled.

Friday challenge page

To view the pages individually and read the journaling, go
here.
The challenge was to do something to your photo, I sewed star buttons on mine.
I have two grumpy girls with me today.
Niina needs a nap and is refusing to take one.

I had to pick up Saara after just one hour of school. Her poncho got caught on a railing while playing tag and she fell on her back. She's got nasty bruises on her shoulder and scratches on her back. A huge scratch on her neck where the neckline of the poncho pulled (snapped the threads too, I have some repairing to do) and a bump on the head. Poor kid.
Not in the best of moods as she had to miss out on a fun city orienteering PE class.

And the worst news?
There's no red wine in the house.
I'll go cry in a corner now :oP

New stuff

BOO to you too... I love Halloween.

Sweet baby. This one is so soft and pretty.

This
Girl Talk album is something Saara is coveting after if it doesn't sell...

These beauties are now up for sale on Ebay (thought I'd start that business up again after summer as my Paypal account is dangerously empty. It can't be empty..how will I ever buy all the new stuff I need..hehehee)
The link for ebay is on my sidebar.
The links above take you to 2peas, where they are also posted.

I've also posted a few LO's on 2peas. Namely

-
The Great Circus of Moscow

-
Butterfly

-
So cute

If you want to take a peek.

I'm off to go sniff some nasal decongestant and then attmpt to blow my nose.
I am not a happy camper right now. Blech.

Funny to think that...

...in Lapland, "just" 710 miles north of me they got their first snow yesterday. And we are being pampered with temps in the 60's.
Should be 66 tomorrow.
Nice.

I've still got this lingering headcold. One day I feel ok, and the next my sinuses are clogged. Irritates me.

And it totally cramps my blogging style... hehehee.

No brain activity= nothing to blog about.

Hoping to kick this thing out of my head soon.

Signs of fall

Now this is a sure sign!

Pretty isn't it?

I finished a knitting project yesterday:

This should keep her cozy on nippy mornings.
Loved the yarn, it's colored like denim.

The flowers were in fact made a couple decades ago by my grandmother.

Remember my laundry/sauna dressing room?
I thought I'd show you that I did indeed get slipcovers made for the couch.

That pile is my next load of laundry going in the washer...
And the clock.
Heh.
My 15 minute prettification project from sunday.
I'm always needing to know the time in the laundryroom. I remembered I had bought this cool clock with a Gil Elvgren pin-up girl a year ago. Mika wouldn't allow me to hang it in my scrapspace (since we share the office). So I figured the laundryroom is one space he doesn't spend his time at, LOL.

I think I better go deal with that pile on the couch and this greenish/blueish pile..

Yeah...sigh.. it just never ends.
