December in phone photos

 December recap.

The macro lens came out for the super cool frost on the pine needles.

 Occasionally I saw the sun.

The watercolor play turned into a card to go with a pair of rainbow striped socks for a friend.

We made a Christmas tree from paper plates for the Club.

Enjoyed mulled wine with a friend.

This is what city Christmas lights look like when you don't stop your stride to take the photo.

Weekend breakfast indulgence.

The occasional sunset was also witnessed.

Twinkling lights at home and downtown were enjoyed with glee.

I was overjoyed that our staff choir was resurrected.

I cannot remember when I did my nails last time.. two years ago?
I blinged up for the staff Christmas party which was a lovely concert.

 It snowed!

A Christmas dinner was planned.

I ordered lego pieces so I could make a cool geeky ornament.

I made a quick Ikea run. Really, a quick one is possible.
There was adorable geekiness up high.

I took out the ornaments to wait for the tree.

I tested out the new boots.

Visited a Christmas fair and found a spot where you could just sit and knit if you felt like it.
Awesome.

There's something magical about the city in December.
Even when it was raining.

Evenings were spent with wrapping paper.

Oh oh oh, look another sunset!

I left an insane amount of money at the supermarket for Christmas food.

Oh yes.
These two are mine.
Love them.
(this is what I found on my phone later on Christmas Eve..)

Oh sweet... favorites.

I loved my present.
New bedside lamps.
I'm in love with the patterns it makes.

It snowed some more!

It was a lego Christmas :)

That stripey wreath

Every year I try to have one craft project with the kids that stays in the Club.
A memento of that year.
This year it was a Christmas wreath.
Surprisingly, we didn't have one.

Remember these stripes?

Acrylic paints and wide brushes were handed to the kids.
They painted stripes on brown paper.

Then we cut them out.
I cut a cardboard base, very simple.

The strips are wrapped around and secured with painter's tape.

Finally I cut a banner from the same brown paper, painted it gold and added the text.
Who doesn't like stripes I ask?

Rudolph the rednosed... rhinoceros?

This season I made some reindeer wannabes.

The rest of Emeline's adventures this December

 -Week two-

 Found her sitting up high.
For some reason I was humming "Wreckingball" all day...

Emeline must have seen Irina and myself knitting every afternoon and decided to try it out.

On Wednesday I found her giggling on top of the clock...

I also found 40 copies of herself up on the walls.
Oh boy...

I think she had gotten into trouble with Santa since the next morning we walked into this:

On Friday she had made a hop scotch for the kids.

 -Week three-

A paintbrush as a broom and a wand in her hair she zoomed above like Harry Potter.

Tuesday we found a message and puzzle to be finished.

The next day we couldn't find her anywhere.
Before one of the kids found her taking a nap on the chair tucked under the table.
That was one challenging puzzle by the way. It took David and me quite a while to finish even with  kids helping.

Snowball fight!

On the last Club day before Christmas she had brought us a Christmas star.
