Kyselyä :)

Mulla olisi pieni toive... Jos te kaikki kiinnostuneet voisitte klikata sitä kaikista parhaiten sopivaa päivää :)

Katsotaan jos saataisiin päivä lyötyä lukkoon!

Seuraava Stadi Scräp

Party on...

I had to keep reminding myself the day before the party that I wasn't anywhere near 100%, after being sick with a horrid cold since Monday evening.
I had to keep it light.

The biggest thing I did was this:

I asked Saara to punch out circles from assorted paper scraps and I sewed them together.

For a centerpiece, I raided three dollhouses for supplies :P

It was a hit.
And very little effort.
*pun intended* :D

As for baking, the only thing I baked were the chocolate cupcakes Niina had asked for.

Swirls and snowflakes.
Once we got back from the skating rink we ate chicken nuggets and french fries to warm us up.
Dessert were the cupcakes.

And everyone was happy.
A good reminder that you don't need to go ALL out for a good party.

I did something way scary today...

It was Niina's birtday party for her friends today.
We started by going skating.

The scary bit?
I borrowed Saara's skates and got on the ice myself.
Haven't done that in nearly 20 years....

It wasn't bad.
I guess you never really forget how to do it.
Mind you, the skates need to be sharpened... they weren't gripping the ice quite the way I would have liked...

We had hot chocolate and donuts :)

And skated some more.
I'll tell you tomorrow what happened after that :)

Inspiroidu #144, concentrate on a letter

-S-

Used some old letter S stickers as decorations, there is some hand stitching, scraps, some of my favorite old school KI Memories paper and even some prima packaging :)

Project Life, week three

You know what I'm enjoying most about this project?
I get to use all those odds and ends of supplies I have hanging around.
Remnant stickers, random decorations, old alphas :)

I'm also enjoying adding stuff ON the photos themselves.

I went with three photos from Saara's Ring day at school.
At our school the day our 9th graders get their class rings, the 8th graders throw them a party and they go out for lunch. Dressed so sharp :)

And Niina's ten years old today!
Yay!

Inspiroidu #143, black & white

Easy enough, right?
Not so much...
Took some thinking this one.
Also took a deliberate red wine stain ;)
Journaling talks about how much I'm interested in the era. Right now my weekly fix comes in the form of The Pacific.

Inspiroidu # 142, filled shape

My inspiration for the shape is from the photo.. heh..

And it's got glitter on it :)

Tickles my funny bone..

It makes sense.
It also makes me smile.

The fact that the character from Lord of the Rings that Lego brings us is...

..Legolas.
Naturally.
..hehee...

Playing with buttons

Now here's a quick project: button bracelet.
Or two. :D

All you need is a piece of elastic, needle and thread and some pretty buttons.
Quarter of an hour later you're finished.
Or half an hour if you keep playing with those buttons like me...
*grin*

Project Life, week two

I know the there are still two days to the week, but as my this week was all about work.. and I work for five days a week.. I'm calling it :)
The next two will be regular weeks as there are events such as a 10th birthday and Ring day coming up :)

Doing my best to transform the (I have to be honest, a bit boring turqoise edition) to look more like me.

Using a lot of stickers, on the photos too, and scraps of paper.

I also found these flat metal bits from American Crafts I've had for eons...

It was a MONDAY.
Started going downhill and kept on going...LOL!

I'm not even telling you about Tuesday..ugh..
I've brushed out some names on the journaling cards. The "text me" is something I made on a friend's Slice machine, fit here perfectly.

Small joys. We got a doorbell.

Hehee.. we were going through the vowels in English class this week, and they just happened to be on that journaling card! Score!

One of our club kiddos wrote me a note so I'd remember to buy new felt pens (I did that today!)

My computer at work is so slow to start and open a browser, that I had time to knit one and a half rounds on that sock :P

Took the kids skating.
You work out a sweat tying those laces!

At the art museum work shop.

And onto next week.

Artsy at Ateneum

This week we've had the 1st graders take part in a work shop at the National Art Museum.
Today I got to tag along to have some fun.

The task was to paint a picture of something that is important for you.
It was good fun and the kids were so into painting.
It's always fun when you have proper equipment!

(click on this to see the images bigger!)

I played some too...

I love how the clouds came out, but I simply ran out of time with the water.. it would have needed another hour at least as it's always so difficult to paint.

Looks like I get to go again with the 2nd graders on Tuesday, I might not go for water picture though.. :D

Project Life, week one

Plus those first two days of the year :)

I'm working with the turqoise edition, which I'm editing to look a bit more like me.
