Note for next year:
more zinnias.
Lots more.
They last two weeks in a vase!
Most weekends we ended up having roasted oven veggies.
Yummm...
Up until my family started protesting that they cannot handle one more healthy roasted goodness of a meal.
Wimps :P
I mean just look at the color on those carrots!
I started taking down the potato towers and slowly digging deeper.
The poppies.. so pretty.
I lost a few bits to rabbits, but I didn't really mind. Too much.
The beets were not growing very well.. they were small ones, not even supposed to be bigger than a golf ball. Still a bit on the small side.
I've already started planning next year... six more raised beds.
The scent was divine.
I loved the carrots.
I'll have to try new ones next summer.
Ummm.. yeah...
*snort*
Ever heard of a bonsai cucumber?
No?
Neither had I, but apparently I grew one.
I was really pleased with the potato haul.
So many bouquets of delicious color.
Growing nicely.
My neighbor gave me a garlic.
Next year, my own.
I couldn't possibly feed everything to my family, they had already revolted :)
I gave goodies away to friends and colleagues.
I also made a nice big green salad and a (mayo free) potato salad for the teachers' room one day.
I am happy to say it was all gobbled up.
And there was still more coming...
