Flower power

The last flowers from my garden made their way to a vase on my desk at work.
I also went from no socks to socks within a month.
And thicker knits.

And there were increasingly more fallen leaves on the pavement.

Baby gift

Pretty pink and yellow scrappy binding.

It went around this crib sized scrappy quilt.
It was a present for the baby who wore the christening gown this weekend.

Crocheted beauty

I am the guardian of this family christening gown.

My Mom crocheted it while she was pregnant with my brother.

It has 30 year old baby spit-up stains on it :)

It has been used by four boys and four girls.
Brothers and sisters.
Mothers and sons.
Cousins.
Second cousins.
After this weekend also mothers and daughters.
Ninth baby in the family will wear this.
My god daughter's daughter.

I do need to make new linings.
I found holes in the blue one.

And try a new stain remover.

Finished

A bit too small fro a shawl but perfect for a scraf.

And here are my brand new happy scrappy socks!
I can't tell you how much I love these.

September in phone photos

And here goes...

A road trip to mid Finland happened.
I managed to match the snacks with my clothes.
The cookies were for every one, the cider was consumed Saturday evening and the chocolates lasted the whole weekend.

I'm on a Marian Keyes kick again.

Hama beads at worked turned into minions.

The school sports day was lovely.

We enjoyed the Habitare interior design expo.
Hanger lights and hipster trophies.

Had a good laugh over this wi-fi that popped up on my screen.

I coveted this hoodie in the kids' section.

I waited while Niina tried on clothes.
She's grown.
Again.

This happened.

There were warm days.
Followed by first frost.

And silly co-workers who changed the letter a in park to an o.
Every time I wrote it on the board.

I went to the yarn store.
New projects to come.

A new mural by the second graders has been started.
They chose to paint a cross section of a haunted house.

Sampled new chocolate that was nearly too pretty to eat.
75% dark chocolate with roasted corn.
Surprisingly good.

These painted place mats at work make me happy.

August in phone photos

 Somewhat late, but here goes.

August meant that it was time to go back to school.

One of the best part of August is unpacking new supplies.
I'm weird that way.

There were horribly hot days that thankfully changed into thunder storms.

There were strawberries...

..anniversaries and champagne.

I made stew.
On a cooler day :)

I got roses from a sweet Russian first grader on the first day of school.

And delicious dessert on my name day.
With raspberries.

New times for these girls, I've known them since they were seven.
Two of them heading to universities abroad.

The Helsinki Festival week appeared around town.
We took a day to explore.

I really liked the summer beard thing that was happening.

Bright colors in flowers and rainbows.

I began knitting over the knee socks from leftover yarn bits.
Pippi Longstocking style.

There was hail.

Followed by amazing sunsets.

Schedule changes made me hate excel even more than I normally do.

Luckily there were copious cups of hot tea to help the anxiety.

Look, I took nearly the same photo in Bath that was in Mollie Makes!

The September photos coming up soon!
