This, that and the other..

So, what do you think these are?
Yes, dollhouse sized seedling trays!
I've got three more sitting on a brand newly built potting table.
They are all going in here:

Things have happened since this photo was taken the other day. The table is now green and the roof is going on tonight. I'm hoping to finish this project soon. I still have to figure out how to make the door.

-------------------------------------

I saw a very cool art exhibit last Saturday.
The artist is called Mari Rantanen and she knows all about color.
Or what do you think?

What you can't see is the texture.
It is layer upon layer upon layer.
I was awestruck.

-------------------------------------

Today I did some sewing.
I bought the girls these lovely wrought iron doll beds from Indiska some weeks ago.
Naturally they needed bed linens.

I embroidered the doll's name on the quilt.
Both the floral and lace fabric were dug from my mom's huge walk-in closet.

Addy looks snug as a bug!
I still have another set to make.

-------------------------------------

Photos from yesterday.

The contrast of the dark clouds and the sun shiningon fresh new leaves was delightful.

One of my favorite things, old glasses from the 50's and 60's.

-------------------------------------

Blooming in my garden right now:

Pure elegance of the bleeding heart.

And soon to go in the garden:

the girls and I have some seedlings to repot.

-----------------------------------

You know what is in town this week?
The Eurovision Song Contest!
More on that tomorrow and over the weekend.

-----------------------------------

Tomorrow I plan to haul my camera everywhere.
I have a personal photo challenge planned.
My day by the hour.
On the hour.
Should be interesting.

I'm also heading downtown to check out the Eurovision hoopla!
Till tomorrow!

I figured it out...

What, you ask?
Where I inherited this procrastination gene... or why I have ten unfinished projects hanging around.. (ten..ha! I wish...)

Found in my mom's closet:

A very trendy crocheted bikini... almost ready. By the look of those patches, she might have been making two tops? A regular one and a teeny one, heh.

Want to take a look at the cover of the magazine?
Go ahead.. and feel free to giggle.

Check out the year...
1973.

I'll stop wondering now.

Oh yeah...

Have you noticed my small visitor's map on the sidebar?

I thought it would be fun to see where you all live!

From some of the places I can easily figure out just who stopped by... I know who lives in WA, and there are a few of you in SoCal.. Costa Rica..yess... and Tornio for sure... now is that one dot in Chicago? The one I'm curious about is the one beyond Australia! Wish I could zoom in, so hard to see where it is exactly.
Help a girl out, will ya?
;o)

It's May!

I owe you a new banner, but I have to confess I haven't touched the camera much since my bro's wedding. I do have to start picking it up more often.
In fact I was pretty zoned out all last week. After all the concentration and long to-do lists, I simply didn't feel like turning my brain on, lol.

But you can't keep doing that for too long...
Besides, I found my scrapping mojo.
Here's a little teaser of what you'll see in the new AMLT gallery later this week.

Can you guess?

And I did get 15 of these little buggers done for a swap:

I should have photographed them with a coin... diameter is 1 inch.
The baskets are made out of cardstock and painted.
It was a "make anything you want" swap over at the Greenleaf board, I'm anxciously waiting for a box... I'll have to show you what I get in return.

Hmm... seems that now that I'm working I have less to blog about. I don't get it. You'd think there would be more to say.
I have to confess there are things I'd love to talk about, but can't in this public forum. Yet, anyways. Ask me again after the school board meeting on the 7th, ok?

The weather is miserable.
Cold.
Wet.
Did I mention cold?

How boring is this.. I'm talking weather...
I better go edit photos, or do laundry, or iron... the latter perhaps, as the mountain will surely fall on me soon if I don't!

Any Galactica fans?

As a child of the 70's and 80's there aren't too many things making a return that I'm thrilled about.

Bay City Rollers?
No more tartan, thankyouverymuch.
Platform shoes?
'nuff said.
Knight Rider?
My eyes...my eyes...
That 80's green that is in vogue this spring?
[shudder]

But there was a tv show that I loooooooved:

Yup, I was a nerdy sci-fi fan even then.
I thought those cylons with the sound effect zzzhhiiii zhhiiiii red light were dead cool.

Not to mention Starbuck and Apollo.
I watched every episode.

So... a year ago they started showing the new Galactica series here.
I was dubious.
I thought it would be lame.
Like coffee rewarmed in the microwave.
I was so wrong.

The cylons looked like people now.
And check out Starbuck and Apollo:

Women are on board this battlestar.

And as an old fan I found this tickling:

Even the old Apollo (Richard Hatch) has a role!

I'm lucky to have a husband into nerdy sci-fi shows too.
Every Friday at 11.30pm (yaaahhh.. they could move that airing time up an hour, please) we are transported light years away.

Now if they'd only start showing Star Trek Voyager here.
Beam me up.

Floral details

Small photos today, click to make them bigger!
On the menu:
Roses and carnations in white tinted with lime and fiery orange.

The maid-of-honor carried a flower ball, dotted with ivy.

Flowergirl bouquets:

I used pretty copper ribbon which I dotted with jeweled pins.

Groom and bestmen:

Janne's had a white rose wired with a bead to match the bride's bouquet.
These also had some copper ribbon around the stems.

Bride's bouquet:

15 BIG roses, each had two glass beads wired to the stems, surrounding them banana leaves folded in half. I gave the bouquet a "tail" of greens and covered the stems with the ribbon and dotted with jewels.

At the reception:

I used all the remaining flowers for these two arrangements.
I loved the colors together.

The last two are still making me smile as I got to bring them home :o)

Photo overload!

Alright.. so yesterday was the EVENT of the year in our family-
my brother's wedding :o)
I'm warning you, this post is LOADED with photos. I took nearly 400.
Yes, really.

Us girls got a nice surprise as this chariot came to pick us up at 8.30am.

One sweet ride!

Can you tell the girls were pretty psyched??!!

Meet the alien photographer...heheheeeee...

The bouquet.
Those are small glass beads wired onto each rose.

He looks pretty cool and collected though.

Love this shot of all the great hairdos!

It was a lovely small church, the 70ish people filled it.

Still a sweet ride.

Miss Tia and our chauffeur Dimitri.

Ready for the guests to walk in.

Watching the video of Janne's bachelor party.

Us two.

The two bestmen and Cuban cigars.

We girls kidnapped Janne.
Eight women and drinks in a limo...
..not a bad life, that.
Petra was in a hurry to think up ten adjectives of the groom to get him back!

The official photographer, taking a break.
Yeah, we had a blast.

Backstage, ready to give him back.

The dancing started with Bruce Springsteen's "I Wanna Marry You".

And the dancing didn't stop anytime soon...

Going for the garter.

Ready, set...

..run and grab!

Lucky Caro!

This one passed out while band was playing LOUD.

Choreography for "Proud Mary".
Rolling...rolling..rolling down the river.

I'm exhausted today.
But so so so happy.

Tomorrow I'll upload more shots of the flowers.
