January- monthly recap

A new year.
And absolutely no resolutions.

The weather was kinda all over the place.

I used the last days of Christmas break to work on Pippi's house.
I have a wall of inspiration in my studio.

I finally got to the movie theater to the last part.
It was.. OK..ish..
I'll make my final judgement after I've seen the extended cut.

I got a Facebook holler one day to show the insides of my purse.
It was surprisingly clean.

Winter sunrises are magic.
I just read that on average Helsinki gets 38 hours of sunlight in January.
This year we got 15½....

Tea and a Russian lesson all wrapped in one.

There was a week long alphabet magnet battle at work.

Ghost lessons were very popular.

Loved knitting these socks.

Oh yay, new minifigures!

We had the clay out at work.
The kids made these cute winter birds.

We celebrated Niina's 14th birthday.

Quick side track.
This is not a phone pic.
I took this just before Christmas of my two teen beauties.

I had a surprise visit from a sweet childhood friend I hadn't seen in eons.

I already start planning the next school year with the new craft supply catalogue arriving.

One of the bonuses of working at my old alma mater is occasionally bumping into my old teachers.
Sr. Clare Ann and Sr. Renee stopped by the school.
A treat.

I also had days when I couldn't get home fast enough, pull on my jammies and wool socks and pour myself a nice big glass of red.

Every two weeks at work I draw something on the chalk board.
Hello Spidey.

Look close.
Do you see it?

December in phone photos

 December recap.

The macro lens came out for the super cool frost on the pine needles.

 Occasionally I saw the sun.

The watercolor play turned into a card to go with a pair of rainbow striped socks for a friend.

We made a Christmas tree from paper plates for the Club.

Enjoyed mulled wine with a friend.

This is what city Christmas lights look like when you don't stop your stride to take the photo.

Weekend breakfast indulgence.

The occasional sunset was also witnessed.

Twinkling lights at home and downtown were enjoyed with glee.

I was overjoyed that our staff choir was resurrected.

I cannot remember when I did my nails last time.. two years ago?
I blinged up for the staff Christmas party which was a lovely concert.

 It snowed!

A Christmas dinner was planned.

I ordered lego pieces so I could make a cool geeky ornament.

I made a quick Ikea run. Really, a quick one is possible.
There was adorable geekiness up high.

I took out the ornaments to wait for the tree.

I tested out the new boots.

Visited a Christmas fair and found a spot where you could just sit and knit if you felt like it.
Awesome.

There's something magical about the city in December.
Even when it was raining.

Evenings were spent with wrapping paper.

Oh oh oh, look another sunset!

I left an insane amount of money at the supermarket for Christmas food.

Oh yes.
These two are mine.
Love them.
(this is what I found on my phone later on Christmas Eve..)

Oh sweet... favorites.

I loved my present.
New bedside lamps.
I'm in love with the patterns it makes.

It snowed some more!

It was a lego Christmas :)
