Thank YOU! :D

First a few words in Finnish about yesterday, then back to English, ok?

It was an awesome scrapping day yesterday. SO much fun to meet people face to face.. meeting a few of my fellow Inspis dt-members too.
All in all a GOOD DAY!

I'm behind on sharing pages..
Here are some Inspis challenge pages.

#134, 10 layers
-Pink-

Yes, around the letter K, there are indeed ten layers of stuff!

#135, scary horror *grin*
-Feeling batty-
Just me in my best ever Halloween costume..
I'm so happy I got to finally use that bat cardstock.
#136, symmetry
-S cooks & bakes-

Pretty self-explanatory :)

#138, fashion
-{sigh}-

Her idea of fashion: leggings and a t-shirt.
Always.
Every day.
I did something on this page I've been doing a lot of lately, dumping loads of older stuff (stickers, rub ons) haphazardly on top of each other.
#141, date
-25.12.-

Our traditional movie might, as Santa almost always brings us something new to watch :)

Then on to more pages.. first some random ones.

-What do you mean these games are addictive?-

Brain teaser games... fun for all :)
I used the leftover stars from the previous page here to create a funky edge.

-Swell-

I can not say this often enough: I work with the BEST people.
*grin*

-25 years later-

Last summer's class reunion.
The one we forgot was our 25th...since we meet every year, LOL!
Here again, piling loads of word stickers for the background.

-comic kitchen-

Comic books.. not the cooking :P
This one started as I found those leftover felt letters by KI Memories. I started gluing them right way round and upside down in rows and lastly flipped the paper 180 degrees.
I like it.
Plus I used up some old coughcoughcrapcoughcough...

Then finally some pages from the France-album.

-chaud-
(that's hot in French)

I still love how it seems that even naked statues were wilting under the heatwave.
-Streets of Paris-

Pure chaos.

-café creme-

I'd so switch my morning tea to this.. in a heartbeat.

-Carentan-

Just a place on the map, a town and fields we drove by, but the name triggered something I had to check later. I remembered the name from the series Band of Brothers, it was the scene of a major battle in WWII. Such a sleepy peaceful place today.
-Lea Frisoni's wonders-

It was such a treat to see these minis in real life as opposed to the pages of a book.

-hungry yet?-

We shopped at the little grocery store opposite to our hotel every day for water and some snacks.
-deliciousness Paris style-

I used the napkin I saved :)

OK.. I'm off to make quesadillas for dinner...
What will you do next?

Instax love

Heini came over for a visit the other day and brought her new baby along..
A Fuji Instax camera.
The photos are like mini polaroids.
Way cool.

I took a photo of Saara and her BFF Tuuli and then took another photo of them watching the image appear :)

(the grey blob on the right is from scanning..)
This is going into my Project Life album.

In a sewing mood...

My uncle dropped by for a visit yesterday.
We sat drinking coffee and talking.
Subject went to the french coffee press I was using and how it needs something to keep the coffee warm... like those "coffee pot hats" my grandma used to have.

This morning I checked out the new Daily DIY post over at One Pretty Thing (one of my favorite hang-outs!), and what do I see???
A tutorial on how to make a french press insulating sleeve!
Now if that isn't a sign of some sorts..

So out came my pile of scraps and to work I went.
And whoever has thought up that one seam flying geese block (the quilt pattern) is a genious.
Hands down.
Saved me a headache or three.

I made slight alterations, plus this still needs to be quilted.
(edit: I started quilting by hand yesterday, and changed my mind.. it looks better without it. The cotton is thick enough to hold the form nicely)

I made mine with laces instead of velcro.

It's so pretty.

Crafty share

After reading Susie's crafty promise post yesterday, I got up and opened the cupboard door.
And faced this pile.

It is a particularly yummy pile.
Just waiting to be turned into crafty goodness.

I figured I would make something that had nagged at me for a while...
A new BIG needleroll that would fit all my knitting needles, no more wondering where the 4mm ones are hiding at.. :)

It took a few hours of cutting, sewing and ironing, but I finished it.

And opened:

I was pleased that I didn't rush, but thought it through as I went.
That in turn guaranteed no ripped seams because of a mistake :)
Added bonus was the fact that I found just enough of matching Marimekko fabrics.

To close, simply fold the top flap and roll.

I also spent some time going through some crafty tutorials and saved images on my computer and made a list of 12 things I'd like to make this year.
Well, technically it's still a list of 10 but I'm leaving some room ;)
In other words: stay tuned for more.
Oh, and thanks Susie :D

Guess what I have...

As I helping Heini out yesterday, I got the very first project Life box from the shipment :D
Now to brainstorm how to interprit it...hmmm...
Yes I have decided that for the second year running I'm doing the 365 photo thing, so I'll have material.
I just think I'd like to have some themes in there too..
What are you all doing with yours?
Do tell...
As Frasier would say: "I'm listening.."
(one of my alltime favorite tv-shows btw)

From me to you.

Bokeh fun!

What is bokeh?
That lovely blurry light on the background when your camera aperture is set way open :)

I've wanted to try this little bokeh trick for some time.
I turned my Christmas lights into stars!

The fairylights on my chandelier...

..hmmm.. or maybe hearts?

*grin*

It doesn't have to be lights.. you can do this with anything that reflects light.
What is this then?

A garland on my tree :)

This is such a cool effect...

I think I'll be playing some tomorrow!
The pics were taken with my 50mm 1.8 lens.
And yes, my aperture was at 1.8.
There are a couple good online tutorials for this, with simple directions on how to make your own bokeh filter. Check them out here and here.
Now go have fun.
I was giddy from giggles as I was taking these!

Merry Christmas everyone!
