Some scrapbooking

These little brads are one of my favorite supplies...

I spent saturday scrapping.. got five layouts done, four for future Inspiroidu blog challenges :) (link is on the sidebar there)

But I do have some other ones I can show you all now.

-10 months-

I used the negative of some acrylic ghost shapes as background.

-tappins coach-

I still have some photos from our camp school trip to scrap...

And live with no regrets..

The story behind this photo can be read here.
It's a good one.

Curioser and curioser...

Yes I am very much waiting for the new Alice in Wonderland movie.. it opens here this friday.
But amazingly the title of this post has nothing to do with Alice..
However it does have something to do with a rabbit.
Not sure if it was white..
..or late :)

Saara got me to look at our neighbor's roof by asking if those are rabbit tracks..

What? On the roof?
I got out my zoom lens and well, zoomed.
Yup, those sure look like rabbit tracks to me... but how did it ever get on the roof???

..and that looks like the place it slid off to roof...
Poor bunny.
Strange bunny.
..curioser and curioser...

Oh sweet KI.. how I love you..

So if you've ever seen any of my scrapbook pages it's pretty clear I've been a HUGE KI Memories paper fan since their very first collection.

Love at first sight.

And if you hadn't noticed that, well here are a few of my favorite pages featuring some of my favorite papers ever:

And yes.. I save every single minute scrap of these papers. In fact they have a box all of their own :)

Last week I got an email from Katy that got me very excited.
KI has released some of the classics in digital form!!!
And the best part is that the paper sets were just $2.00..

Well no.. in fact the best part is that they had the Ice Cream Parlor papers.
SCORE!

Now if they'd next release that pink flower paper I'd be over the moon... pretty please?
Yes I noticed they had it in green.. but I'd love the pink one.. perhaps I should just go ahead and purchase the Evergreen papers and fiddle with the hue of the paper..heh..
*grin*

mmm... I do owe some posts.. don't I?

Get ready to be blasted with several in the next few days.
A few of them today already.

I admit to being lazy... I always notice a level of low energy this time of year for a few weeks. Then the sun comes out and it's all good again.

Shall I start with the choir?
I've joined the choir for the school staff.
We don't take ourselves too seriously...

Our debut performance was at the Abi Show. In the Finnish high school system abis are the seniors. In February we have a day called Penkkarit. It's the day the abis leave the school. They have no further lessons, instead they have a few weeks study leave before their matriculation exams. But on this day they get to dress up weird/funny and throw candies to/at kids in the school. Our abis put together a show for the middle school kids and teachers.

Our choir did a surprise performance of ABBA's Knowing Me, Knowing You. With altered words to fit the occasion. We also made a test paper for the abis as a listening comprehension test... :P

I do not have live action footage for you, thankfully.
The song itself went alright, we got big applause when we all got our choreography going the same direction..LOL.. hey, we had only three rehearsals..and none with ALL of us there..

The main thing was we had fun.
Next we start rehearsing for the spring church..
..which means we may have to start taking ourselves seriously..damn..

Snow... continued..yet again..

Barbecue snow cover recap.

December

January

February

I sound like a broken record.. but enough already!

This mountain range is all the snow off the roof...

However there are some bright spots about all this snow.
Like your teenager getting stuck in it..
Gave me a good laugh :)

mid winter...

..now if only the Olympics weren't a very frustrating -10 hours away.. time zone wise.. luckily I have next week off and can stay up late :)

This is for you...

I heart you all.

Over the weekend Mika shovelled snow off the roof.. while I rested my dizzy head on the couch (I had a weeklong antibiotic that made me slightly dizzy).

And now that snow is on top of the old snow..

To get the full idea of just how high those mountains are let me squat down..

Yeah...
I don't know when it'll all melt.
It hasn't gone above freezing for nearly two months straight..

Pink, pink and more pink

Teachers' room decorations for friday :)

Reetta and I had lots of fun planning and some frustration while executing..

..but it turned out brilliant.

And we even had cake!

Can't beat that.

Nostalgia trip...

..aka the things you can find in the school storage when looking for a tablecloth :)

So friday before last we got around to cleaning up the so called party storage room.. really it's a small walk-in closet with all the stuff in the wrong places, LOL. Not anymore though.. it looks so nice now. Plus it's all labeled.
But we are still missing tablecloths...

And we needed a pink one for the Valentine's table (never found that one but settled on the see through fabrics).
But while rummaging through the much bigger and much messier main storage I came across a box with stamps. And went into conniptions when I recognized the angels..

I remember these from MY school papers!!!
However I do remember that there was one more stamp with the angel crying.. maybe it's a good thing that's missing ;)
These antique stamps are now safely stored away in the principal's office.. such a piece of school history.

I also found these:

something else I remember from my papers :)

That main storage is something I plan to tackle (with help) this spring. I can only imagine the treasures that could pop up...

Paper on paper..on some more paper.. :)

-play tourist-

Last summer.
Just me and my camera all around my city.

-sweet-

Laura, do you recognize the view ;)
For those who don't know this is taken at the ladies bathroom at the top of Hotel Torni..
The bar is worth a visit just for this..

-us

Right now.

-ttyl-
(that's talk to you later) ;)

The 10am coffee break.
Time to hang out and chat with the best co-workers on the planet.
I like this pic of us this year.. looks like a real class :)
We're a laid back bunch for sure...

Enough already!

This photo was taken on Dec 23rd.
We've gotten a fair share (and then some!) of snow since then... in fact the last time Helsinki had this much snow was way in the early 1980's...

See this was nice.

Here's the comparison photo taken this week...

..notice how you can't even see the lower slots anymore!
We have a whopping 60cm of snow.
That's almost 24 inches.

...no..no.. that's not an igloo...

..it's my poor rhododendron all buried...

This is getting ridiculous..

..apparently we are getting some MORE snow this week.
More!!!

I honestly don't know where we're going to put it!

We already have this mountain on the north side..
..let me step back so you can see the real height as you can see where our foundation is..

Like I said..
enough is enough!

It is however still pretty.
But I've had enough pretty for this winter.
Thankyouverymuch.
I'll leave you with this shot I took while we were driving home from the in-laws' on sunday.
I really love the feel of speed.
This is snow at its best.
Makes for fun driving too :)
