Inspiroidu skräppäystä...

Thought I'd start adding the Inspiroidu pages here as a regular feature and hopefully already on the friday so all you inspired scrappers can get a view of the page as a bigger file.

Hei te inspiroituneet, yritän tästä lähtien muistaa laittaa uuden sivun aina perjantaisin tännekin, jotta voitte käydä kurkkimassa sitä isompana jos on halua :) Mutta nyt tässä on neljä kerralla...

I'll start by adding the four last ones.
If you any questions about a technique or a product, just leave me a comment and I'll get back to you.

Oh yes

I confess to being a big fan of this twosome.
Depp and Burton.

The fern leaves are felt ones by Prima, really cool.. and the Alice has been cut with an exacto knife from a template found on this ultracool blog: Scherenschnitte.
Takes a bit of work.. well actually quite a lot of work, but it was worth it!

Friday

Scrapping something very recent.. at that time the previous friday when us two gals were out on the town. And yes, there's a story about that whistle...

The background paper is a flocked one by Doodlebug, feels like the wallpaper I remember from the 70's at my house :)

Fun page, just listing a 100 things I love love love.

Used scraps of paper for the journaling and at last glance decided the page still needed something and added all those sparkly brads to the side.

Two different uses of templates here, another exacto knife cut, also from Scherenschnitte, and the the butterfly ones from Heidi Swapp, that I just stamped white ink over.

Our bubblicious spring tradition

Something I've done with the girls for very many years.. when it is finally warm enough to shed winter jackets we break out the bubbles!

This year we brought a new little member to the club..

(and just so you know this photo is straight out of the camera, no editing needed.. love those eyes!)

She soon figured out what to do...

..kind of.. LOL...

She had cousins showing her a great example.

..this is what happens when a bubble bursts right in front of your eyes..

I love bubbles.. can you see us?

Julia was like the Little Red Riding Hood in her spring coat.

I want a coat like that :)

..still giggling...

Long day at work yesterday.
Had to stop at the supermarket on my way home along with half on Helsinki.. well I needed white wine for today's dinner and to pick up Julia's b-day present.. among other bits and pieces for dinner..
I come home hauling three big heavy bags, my feet aching, arms stretched to the limit and I find this on my front door..

Robbers' loot.. (kultaa= gold)

The girls' version of a April Fools joke.. they were dressed up like robbers (all in black, hoodies up, wearing gloves) tip toeing in the foyer all sneaky like..

Too cute.
Saara also managed to think up a genious prank for Mika.
Our freezer has been fixed twice as it had some problems keeping the temperature right. This in mind Saara crafted new temps with paint on black paper and taped them on top of the real temps on both the freezer and fridge.
In the photo you can see the real temp on top and Saara's mock-up below.

A quick glance and you wouldn't even notice there was anything unusual.

So when Mika was vacuuming I called out to him saying that the freezer temp was acting up again.
He swallowed it hook line and sinker!
Took him a few seconds to work it out :)
Gave us a good laugh...
High fives for that prank!

Sunday sewing

Noonish on Sunday my hands were itching to sew something..
But what?
I went online looking for inspiration and happened to find a tutorial for a cute owl on Moda Bake Shop.

I grabbed my pile of Marimekko fabric scraps and went to work.

While putting together the first one I decided it would be just as easy to make a second.. and then a third as the green fabrics were calling my name..

And here's the trio of owl cousins :)

Yes, cousins.
As three girlie cousins will be the owners.
From the left the 1st one is Saara's, the 2nd Niina's and the 3rd will be Julia's as a part of her 1st birthday present in a couple weeks.

I'm so glad owls are pop.

it's the time of year I start yearning for flowers

...I heard the blackbird singing yesterday.. spring must be close.
There is snow, but it is melting as you need rubberboots to cross the street..

I stopped by the garden center yesterday to bring some spring inside the house.

Tulips and daffodils.
Makes me happy.

I also bought some pretty succulents and planted those in the same planted with..

..white muscari.

So pretty.
I'm already planning what to plant outdoors for summer... I have images of dahlias and ranunculus along with anemones and climbing vines circling my head... I want big outdoor planters just brimming with colors and textures.
Saara's confirmation party is on August 7th (so if you are family or friends reading this, mark your calendars!) which also happens to be our 17th wedding anniversary. I'm planning a lovely outdoors party.. it better not rain LOL!

The definition of cute

Don't you agree?

My girls are completely smitten with their sweet little cousin.

They can't get enough of her.
And neither can I.
She is one super cute teeth making machine.
A month away from her 1st birthday.

I can't wait to see what this threesome gets to this coming summer when the little one has learned to walk :)

And as godmother I felt it was my duty to teach her how to high five :)

It's great to have little ones around.
It's always great fun to see the world through their eyes..
A reminder of the fact that the simple things tend to be the best ones.

What do you get when you take 39 1st graders to the natural History Museum?

Exhaustion...
Check.
Headache...
Check.

*grin*

It all started well... we admired the fabulous african elephant in the entry hall.

Some of us from unexpected angles :)
I love elephants.
Always have, always will.

The interior of the building is beautiful.

I always look up.

You never know what's up there...

But you know.. after a while I found myself admiring teeth.
Big teeth.

Bigger teeth.

And truly gigantic teeth.

I'm thinking this was when my headache started kicking in.. heh...
All in all a good day.
