Ooooohhhhhhhhhh!!!!!

Lovely things can happen when you make a wish!
A fairie has moved into my laundryroom.
I found a beautiful door there...

And look, a window also!

The curtain is drawn tight.. I can't peek in even if I wanted to.
And I do want to.

A mailbox.

I wonder why she likes peacocks so much?

She must be doing some renovating, because I found tiny rolls of wallpaper on her front steps.

And even tinier tiles, which after some magnifying glass action revealed a peacock design!

Pixie dust...

I'm curious to see what happens next!

Pins and needles... and a little geography

I made myself a new happy pincushion!

What...?
Oh, why I arranged the pins by color?
Heh.
I just felt like it.
I'm odd like that.
Talking of needles, this little wooden thingamajig is one of my very favorite.. well... thingamajigs.
Cute, isn't it?
It's from New Zealand. It was a gift from a dear friend.
[waving to Switzerland, as I'm pretty sure she drops by every now and then]
Look, it opens...

Yes!
Needle storage!
Isn't it ingenious?
Onto the geography bit:
Have you all taken a look at that map of mine?
I'm blown away.
There are dots on FIVE CONTINENTS now.
Who dropped by from South Africa?
And from Iceland?
Or Brazil?
And I could swear one of those dots is on the island of Tasmania...
Heck, I need a better, more detailed map.
Or then I just need people starting to 'fess up.
LOL!
Because I'd love to know something about you as well ;o)

Have you seen these?

And I wonder if I wish really hard a fairy (or fairie, I prefer this spelling myself) would move into my house?
Because I do believe in fairies, I do, I do, I do...

New stock at my Etsy store!

I have been busy!

Some lovely salmon

A basket of fruit

Breakfast for two

And not one

but two lovely aprons made from 1950's vintage tablecloths.
Ans so much more :o)

I love the seaside

And I love rocks like these, warmed by the sun..

...so smooth under your bare feet.

Next to a tiny beach.

A place where two girls can go exploring all day long.

Where you can see small lizards (=sisilisko)...

...and a skin shed by the only poisonous snake we have around here.

A place where the dog is happiest in the water...

..and the swan family shows off their young ones.

We tracked this airplane in the sky many times because...

...of the parachuters.

So where were we?
At a summer cabin on a small island close to the city of Hanko.
It was lovely.
The weather was beautiful.
I even got tanlines from two days in a bikini.
And the girls?
They spent much of their time in the water:

SPLASH!
*grin*

They collected rocks

while I admired them up close and personal.

We also drove out to the city for some ice cream and a little walk.

What? You thought we left him out?

We found a cool long slide.

I love retro signs...

Tawny dear, this one is just for you!
It's the movie theatre.
Reminded me of that one in downtown Olympia we used to go to.

We also visited this lovely cafe.

Now these are tables that won't be blown away in a storm...

Now we are back home to rainy weather and loads of laundry.
Sweet real life.
Ha.

I do need to go take a few photos today though and get some items up in my Etsy store.
Update on that latest tomorrow.

Poppies, jasmine and squares

OK, so it's not quite next week yet, but I had to drop by to show you something before I disappear for a few days again.
Hey, it's summer.
The weather's great and there's some seaside lazyness in my near future.
Couldn't get much better.

Look at this beauty.

And it's giant bright orange red neighbor.
My hand and the bottom of the flower are at the same level.

mmm... my jasmine bushes are in bloom this week.
Walk past our fence and you are in scent heaven.

And I've been finally cutting up those Marimekko fabric bits I'd been collecting:

The white squares are from 60 yr old sheets. Some are embroidered with my grandma's initials. It still needs a border and it's nowhere near done.
But I'm hoping I'll get it done so we can use it in a few weeks.
Because this will be our new picnic quilt.
I'm itching to get it done.
