The weather that is.
Raining today.
Again.
It's November all over again.
No.Wait.
We actually had snow the first days of November.
Yes. Real snow.
The white, cold and glittery kind.
Since then we've had two breaths of snow.
Not even dustings.
Breaths.
You know the amount, you have to go low to check if it's really there and then your breath melts it away.
Plenty of rain though.
And fog.
Mist.
Downpour.
Sprinkling.
Just wet and miserable.
It's January 8th!
Come on...
We have snowboots, skis and skates just wasting away.
Not to mention sleds and toboggans and down jackets.
But not this week.
Yet. (note the optimism)
I'm not holding my breath either. (never mind)
We had the warmest December in recorded history.
No lakes have ice coverage yet.
And by this time the sea is usually iced also.
All I'm saying is that the folk working on on the ice breakers are getting an easy year.
PS. My Colorado friends, send your weather here, please.
I'll happily take a blizzard or two.
your new banner is lovely, susanna!
ReplyDeleteandy and i were discussing yesterday what an awfully warm winter it has been here, too. we can only hope for long sleeve weather, but i hope you get some ice on those lakes soon!
it's wintery here. we had some really nice days, but of course now that i'm back at school guess what it's like out? at the moment it's sunny and gorgeous, but within the next two days we are supposed to get hit by the biggest blizzard on record in the last 18 years. yippee.
ReplyDeletesame weather here.
