I was going to walk to the grocery store, but now I think I'll wait a bit.
And enjoy.
And type :)
I was downtown yesterday with my camra in tow to see if I could find bits that felt like Helsinki to me during Helsinki Day. I found out I'm one picky photographer. The spots where the people were weren't talking to me at all. I either had to look up:

..or venture into the sidestreets.
I was taking this photo and it made an old lady stop and start looking at the wall.. and then me.. in confusion..
I left her guessing ;)
And smiled as I walked away.

Just a few steps away I found this gate.
I've no idea if the lady was still looking at me...

One of my favorite things in town are our green trams.

Inside too.

Now the song is Suspicious Minds.. and it's two guys with guitars.
I need to take my camera into town more often. Especially to the sidestreets. And high points. As we have no skyscrapers the city is defined by church steeples. Take the girls with me, plan a route to include an icecream kiosk, and shoot pictures with Saara. Haul my big ass zoom along.
Switched to a Chris Isaak song... good tunes.. beats the radio hands down. Nice harmony here. Wish you could here this with me.
Mika went to pick up the girls, they'll be home in three hours or so.
It'll be nice to have then home again. Although I have enjoyed the quietness of the house, the wind and birds have been my radio.
Lay down Sally...
Fixing tupos here. hah. Ridiculous how many I make.
On the road again...
Do I have you singing along yet?
Dancing in the dark..
*grin*
When you read this leave me a note on your favorite summer tune.
I'll have to insist.
Because I know Laura isn't the only person reading...
Would a little prize make you show yourself?
Well why not?
It's time for a little summer blog fun.
I'll add a picture of the prize tomorrow, I'll keep this open for a week.
For me... anything by The Eagles.
You know I read, but I'll also comment. One of my favs isn't an Eagles song, is connected to the the Eagles by Don Henley "Boys of Summer." Also anything dancable by the Beach Boys is definitely a summer song! "Help Me Rhonda, I Get Around, Good Vibrations"
ReplyDeleteA summer song would most definaltely be In the Summer Time by Mungo Jerry :) always makes me smile!
ReplyDeleteAnd I confess, I read, but don't comment.
I am here - a devoted reader since '06 ;) Love ya and say hi to the girls, I can't believe how grown up Saara looks, but on the other hand Niina's hymytyttö was no surprise...
ReplyDeleteI'm reading every week, not leaving a comment... from the Beach Boys it's definately Good Vibrations, but Sophia by Rasmus is great!
ReplyDeletelots of summer songs, but right now guess it would be "a hard day's night" by the Beatles. My uncle has a fabulous Beatles tribute band, so we listen to lots of Beatles music!
ReplyDeleteSis I know you love "Life's Been Good" (Joe Walsh is an Eagle!) and consequently it always reminds me of the two of us-unruly teens belting out our favorite songs ahhhhh. For me it varies but this year it it Say Hey by Michael Franti and Spearhead! I love you!
ReplyDeleteI read dutifully, just swamped with on the go things.
ReplyDeletePlaying Boston's first album always signifies summer to me.
